Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Getting the trauma out of your tissues isn't enough. You've also got to get the Love in.I walked into yoga this morning with all kinds of feelings. Mad at the world, scared about my fate, you know, usual stuff. And it was stuff I felt like I had to figure out. Stuff I had to solve. It took me about 15 minutes of sweating and breathing to realize the world wasn't the problem. It was me. My emotional issues (which the Buddhists so compassionately call 'defilements') were throwing fuel onto some very minor fires. My emotions were the source of some very unhelpful and very repetitive thoughts. Not a lot of creativity going on there. A hamster wheel of negativity all through my opening Surya Namaskara. I could see it in my body (Where do you feel it in your body?) I was trying to pull it out. Easier said than done. It wasn't for another ten minutes that I realized that I should probably change my attitude and raise my vibration. There was enough space in my tissues and my consciousness (funny how that works) to figure out that I had the power to move into love, forgiveness, and humility. Not only that, but the awareness dawned that this might be more useful that arguing with myself about the best course of action. What a relief. It was like fresh water. Like I was irrigating the sludgy morass of my impure soul. The crap that felt so stuck only moments ago start to float and wash away effortlessly. Yoga is such a phenomenal integration activity. We know that our psychedelic journeys only purify us so much (if that's even the metaphor we want to use.) And that it's up to us to keep the process going in the days, months, and years after. We've got to hold more light. We've got to seek what separates us from love. On a cellular level, yoga opens us up to more flow and nourishment. It breaks up the sludge that accumulates in the extra cellar matrix (the space between the cells). This allows for more effective cellular metabolism. The good stuff gets in easier, and the bad stuff gets out. Purifying, and tonifying. And it's like this on every level. All the way through our body to our heart and our soul. We peel ourselves open to make more room for embodied wisdom. We stretch ourselves beyond the cold comfort of rigid defensiveness and depression. "We bring the light into the body on the breath." Wah Coaching Training Starts in FebrauryWe've got a condensed, focused version of our psychedelic integration coaching training starting in February, and there are still spots. It's six months long and about half the price, and it still covers all the skills and tools you'll need for the Tam Arc of Engagement. You'll know how to take someone safely and effectively through preparation, ceremony, and integration. All of the info you need is on this page and I'll post more in upcoming emails. Meditation for the JourneyOur Signature workshop also starts in February. If you're not quite ready to spend six months with me, but six weeks seems more managable, then Meditation for the Journey is for you. A variety of mindfulness and somatic-based practices for consciousness expansion, MFTJ is excellent for both professional and personal explorers. https://tamintegration.com/psychedelic-meditation-intensive/ Integration CirclesOur Open integration circles are back, once a month. The first one is tommorow, Wednesday Nov 12th at 7pm Eastern Time The Golden Road The Golden Road has evolved into a wonderful group of practitioners. The wonderful people who show up share not only their journeys, but the journeys of those they steward. It's become a place of learning, support, accountability, and peer review. Folks are learning some things from me, but they are also learning from each other. We all face unique challenges as we work in this space, and it's great to have a place where we can bring them for non-judgmental feedback and reflection. You're invited. Click here to join! The sensitive stuff isn't recorded; that's just for those of us in the room, but there are many teachings that are. There is a growing collection of masterclasses designed for coaches, guides, and therapists. Here are some of the upcoming live masterclasses: The wildly therapeutic potential of Salvia Divinorum with Christopher Solomon Join Somatic Salvia Guide, Christopher Solomon, for an informative and in-depth lecture about the powerful and often misunderstood plant medicine, Salvia Divinorum. Learn how he uses Salvia with his somatic therapy clients, how you can use Salvia as a pragmatic tool for healing, meditation, and exploring the deep realms of your psyche. This lecture will give you an understanding of how to work with low doses of the plant for therapeutic purposes. Some topics covered will be:
Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness and the Future of Psychedelic Integration with Fleet Maul In this conversation, Dr. Fleet Maull explores the intersection of Neuro-Somatic Mindfulness™ (NSM)—a cutting-edge, trauma-informed meditation methodology—and the evolving field of psychedelic-assisted healing. Drawing from decades of experience in mindfulness, neuroscience, and somatic psychology, Dr. Maull shares how NSM provides a powerful framework for nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and embodied awareness—key elements for integrating profound psychedelic experiences into lasting transformation. The discussion highlights how cultivating mindful embodiment before, during, and after psychedelic journeys can deepen insight, promote neuroplastic healing, and support the emergence of awakened leadership and authentic self-realization in everyday life. And more are being added all the time. at just $50/month, it's a hell of a deal ->https://tam.zone I listened to some sacred music this weekend. It was a lovely experience. Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. I hope you heal from the things you don't talk about. "I hope you heal from the things you don't talk about" is a blessing that has been making the rounds on social media lately. I've heard a lot of blessings, but this one just popped up a few months ago, and it's been everywhere. I think it's a beautiful acknowledgement and a validation that we're all working through endless amounts of grief, rage, and pain. For psychedelic people, it...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Tis the season to remember our ancestors, our Grateful Dead. There is a legend about some very particular hieroglyphics in the pyramids at Giza. There is a line that can be translated as, "Spaceship Earth Will Be Piloted Into The Heavens By The Grateful Dead." I can't confirm or deny its veracity, but I would guess it's a pretty liberal translation. But we are told that our ancestors guide us, that they are watching over us, cheering us...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Your Inner Child Loves The Hobbit. The 5-year-old and I read The Hobbit over the summer, and it has given us lots to think about. It's also led to one of my proudest parenting moments. We were making sandwiches for a hike, and he was spreading peanut butter onto some bread. It was a bit lumpy and patchy, and he pointed it out, saying, "It's fine." I countered, "No, dude, spread it all the way to the edges. You got this." He questioned,...
