Coming Down Gently.Sometimes we think our journey will last forever. And sometimes we think that's awesome, and sometimes we think that's terrible. I've been in both states. I've had the thought, "I'm stuck like this now. I'm going to be this confused and scared forever." I've also had the thought, "This is bliss, I want to be here forever." It's never been the case. They've always ended. I come out a little different each time, but still, they've never been eternal. I've had experiences where I thought I was crazy or doomed, and they've ended pretty nearly the same as the experiences where I thought I ascended into a lightfilled, sacred, geometric realm for good this time. With Brunch. Nothing like staring into the vastness of a fading vision with a glass of orange juice and a coffee while sitting in a cafe surrounded by chattering people who are well-rested and none the wiser. It reminds me of the post-credit scene of the Avengers. Coming down gently means different things to different people. Me, I like juice. Both sweet journeys and tough journeys have their value. The terror brings humility. The ecstasy brings gratitude. These are two important qualities. People constantly ask me for integration practices. Cultivate humility. Cultivate gratitude. Parts work can't compare. Parts work does a lovely job of clearing the field of psychic debris. If you're wrapped up your stuff, it can help you get unwrapped. But at some point you are your firefighters, and your managers and your demons and children are going to have to get it together enough to cultivate humility and gratitude. Nobody can grow in compassion for you. That's the practice. That's the biohack. Most of us are trained towards selfishness and self centeredness. It might be hardwired into us at some level. If you want to hack yourself, to really go against the grain, practice compassion. Not to be confused with people-pleasing. Real compassion. How do you do it? Become more humble? Become more grateful? I don't know, I don't know you. It's different for everyone. Come to Golden Road group and we can talk about it. But you can put those qualities in your mind and set the intention. You can look for opportunities. Focus more on embodiment and less on achievement. Allow yourself to be as gentle as the comedown you wish to see. Be the gentle comedown you wish to see! Building a mind that is bigger, funnier, and sexier Here's one of my favorite litmus tests. “A quicker intelligence test, which also indicates the trajectory of your development, is this: If the world seems to be getting bigger and funnier all the time, your intelligence is steadily increasing. If the world seems to be getting smaller and nastier all the time, your stupidity is steadily increasing.” - Robert Anton Wilson, The Illuminati Papers “The only sensible goal, then, is to try to build...
Can Integration Just Feel Good Already? Sometimes I think that we're the architects of our own suffering, even on our quest for healing. We procedurally generate more and more problems for ourselves. Procedural generation is a computer term. It's when we use algorithms and computer code to create data. It's why you can scroll social media endlessly and continue to see content that you're somewhat interested in. Picture an endless, computer-generated world filled with trees and mountains, and...
Integrative Change Takes a Ton of Energy - The Kundalini Awakening The Kundalini Awakening. Maybe you've heard of it. It's a fairly common psychedelic experience. There is an experience of cosmic energy shooting up the spine and reaching the head, where it then expands or blossoms. Usually, an explosion of enlightened insight accompanies it. It doesn't last, and unfortunate are the souls that think it means more than it does. Most people simply don't have the energy to maintain this...
