Do Something Hard For Your Psychedelic Integration - Red Things on Tuesday

Do Something Hard For Your Psychedelic Integration

Sometimes people want delicate, bespoke integration homework. They want to watercolor daisies, get more massages, and make sure they are taking time for self-care.

This is all fine and good. We all need this.

But it's not all we need, and to be honest, most of us are living a little on the soft side already.

Most of us would be better off doing something hard.

I know we're slogging through the endurance challenge of being alive in 2026, but it's on autopilot.

We're not consciously disciplining ourselves; we're not committing to new levels of performance or asceticism as a method of growth and transformation. We're not pushing ourselves in unique ways with deep intention.

Why not?

Whenever I do, I feel amazing. Fasting, waking up early, resting media. It shows me that my claim "I'm going with the flow" is a cop-out. It's bypass. I've got resistance to being disciplined, and spirituality has given me an alibi.

True flow comes from mastery, not laziness.

I learn about myself by going against my flow. My flow and The Flow are two different things, you see.

It's like that old prayer, "Thy will, not mine, be done." Or, for the yogis, Om Namah Shivaya.

So here are some ideas. Most of them will work for most of you. There's nothing too tough in here. Nobody is asking you to sundance.

  • A 24 hour water fast
An amazing and safe way to tune up your self-control while also tuning up your digestive system. Give your body a rest while sharpening your mind.
  • Wake up early for 30 days
6am? 5am? 4am? Pick a time and rise and shine. No snoozes, no excuses. Get up in the direction of your dreams.
  • No social media for a week
Stop the brainrot and give up the dopamine dependency. Notice how you crave validation, confirmation, or even escape. Be on the look out for the type of content you're really addicted to.
  • Read a book all the way through
Find something positive and high vibration, and don't put it down until you're done. See what it feels like to complete something.
  • Cold Showers for a month
Learn how your breath can move you more smoothly into discomfort. Expand your comfort zone.
  • No Sugar for 21 days
Watch how fast your brain and your body start begging for treats. Watch how you feel once the detox has happened.

Don't stay stuck because you're not willing to do the hard thing. Compared to a conscious, integrated life, this isn't even that hard.

If you can't fast for a day, how will you build your dreams?

Good luck my friends. Stay thirsty.

Meditation for the Journey 3.0 !!!

A new variation of Meditation for the Journey is launching this summer! Starting in 2019, I've taught Meditation for the Journey about 18 times to several hundred enthusiastic spiritual explorers. After a few cohorts, I extended it to six weeks.

And now, It's evolved again.

I've changed a lot since It first launched, and so has my personal and professional practice. The world has changed a lot, too, and so has the psychedelic community. People who were just considering putting a proverbial toe into psychedelic waters are now exploring the depths. The slightly curious have become guides. Coaching and psychedelic-informed therapy proliferate.

People are out of the closet, and the movement is in motion.

Folks are showing up with different problems and questions, too. People who once wondered, "Can I do this? What would it mean if I followed my calling?" now wonder, "How can I do better? How can I show up fully for this? How do I deal with my blocks so I can help my clients deal with theirs?"

The honeymoon, in some ways, is over, and the people who haven't run for the hills back to corporate are ready to roll up the sleeves of their heart-mind and recommit to clearing out the caves of their karma.

So that's what we're going to do. A more practitioner-focused class. Deeper conversations. More training of the mind. More clarification of our values and more exploration of what guides our practice.

So, I invite you to have these conversations with me. I think it's going to be awesome.

It starts July 7th and runs for six weeks. The classes are from 4 to 6 pm pacific, and 7 to 9 pm Eastern. They are all recorded.

Classes are two hours, for a total of 12 hours of class time with several additional video recordings. You'll have a group chat so you can share with your people.

We'll also meet for two 30-minute meditations to deepen your practice and have some group accountability. Those are Monday and Wednesday at 9 am Pacific, Noon Eastern

It's $450 through June 15th, and then the price raises to $600.

So, you're cordially invited to join this special group, and I look forward to seeing you there.

Register here.

Training Info Session

If you’ve been feeling the pull to support others in psychedelic work, but want to do it in a way that’s grounded, thoughtful, and actually responsible, this is a good place to start.

I’m hosting a live info session for the Psychedelic Integration Coach Training. I’ll discuss how we approach integration as a real discipline rooted in mindfulness, somatics, and spiritual practice, not just intuition or good intentions.

We’ll talk about what makes someone effective in this role, how the training is structured, who it’s for, and what people actually do with it in their lives and work.

There will be time for questions. It’s not a pitch-heavy call. Just a chance to get a clear feel for the training and see if it’s aligned for you.

If this is something you’ve been circling, it's worth a conversation.

The Golden Road - Mentorship, Peer Support, Supervision, and Skill Building for Serious Psychonauts and Healing Professionals

The Golden Road has evolved into a wonderful group of practitioners.

We meet every Thursday at noon eastern, and there are monthly masterclasses as well.

There is also a large archive (over 200 hours) of psychedelic education and past talks.

The wonderful people who show up share not only their journeys, but the journeys of those they steward. It's become a place of learning, support, accountability, and peer review. Folks are learning some things from me, but they are also learning from each other. We all face unique challenges as we work in this space, and it's great to have a place where we can bring them for non-judgmental feedback and reflection. You're invited. Click here to join

Sincerity vs Seriousness in the Ceremonial Space I'm a sincere person, but I don't know that I'm a serious person. I think there is a difference. I honor the processes people go through to heal, I honor the lineages of practitioners who have worked tirelessly to support others and preserve teachings, I deeply appreciate the sacredness of all life and the interconnectedness of us all. There are so many things that make my heart humble. I was also blessed wth a strong sense of humor, a gift...

Meditation is hard sometimes, but it's good for integration There is a way to meditate for everyone. It might be different for everyone, but there is a way in. You too, can dive into yourself, past the chatter, past the pain, and sink into the truth and love that is your essential nature. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not promising that you'll get all that immediately. People who promise instant results are generally full of it. I've been dragging my neurodivergent mind to the cushion for...

The Humility of the Psychedelic Comedown Ram Dass once said that coming down from a good psychedelic trip was like "getting kicked out of heaven." I agree, it can be painful to watch your access to truth and beauty slowly fade away. It's the worst thing in the world, and the reason why integration is so important. Integration, in my humble opinion, is the practice of staying high, keeping your access to those higher states of consciousness available in every moment. For example, I know that...
