Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday.β Pumpkin Spice Lemon TekGinger, Cinnamon, Clove, Nutmeg, Lemon, Mushrooms. It's autumn. Why not? There are plenty of people in the world who use peanut butter and jelly as their ceremonial offering. I've seen pictures of the little saints decorating slices of cheese pizza. To each their own. Spices aren't high on the list of sacrileges, I think. We're spice people. We love the touch of a cinnamon stick. The pop of a cardamom pod. The wholesome messiness of freshly peeled ginger and turmeric. No bright orange sugary syrup for us. We cannot comprehend the consciousness that would add artificial or even natural flavors. We don't mess with perfection. We bow to it. We savor it. Local honey. Your friend's fair trade cacao. A splash of cider. It's all fair game. Speaking of cider, is there better proof of the existence of God than smoking ganja and eating apple cider donuts on a crisp autumn evening? And this, my friend, leads us to the wonder of our weekend retreat this in the Orange Autumn Woods. Cannabis. Donuts. Meditation. Coaching tools. There are still one or two more spots. I'm packing up some altar pieces and putting the finishing touches on the manuals. I'm about to go pick up the medicine for the participants. We've decided on some solventless RS11 x Banana Cake made by my friends at Sweetgrass Botanicals. Both the dispensary, and Cassandra, its head chef, have won many awards for their products. I think it's going to pair so nicely with the experience, and everone will get their own cartridge which they can take home as a delicious tool for at home integration. β π Come Study and Practice with the Tam Community. πMeditation for the Journey: Autumn Retreat in the BerkshiresSeptember 26-27-28, Plainfield, MA Join a group of like-minded explorers for a weekend of transcendent practice and ceremony ~ Explore the guided somatic practices and visualizations that you can share with your clients. ~ Experience how mantra and sacred sound can deepen somatic awareness and release. ~ Enjoy ceremony in the gorgeousness of New England Autumn ~ 15 people max. This retreat weekend offers training for individuals who wish to approach their coaching and guiding practice from a deeper, more centered place. First, our training will provide you with an opportunity to deepen your personal practice in a way that will support the way you show up for your clients and communities. Our curriculum is based on the theory that more centered beings make better guides. You will also be offered practices designed to explore the depths of your body, mind, and consciousness with simple clarity. Weβll open Friday with some sound healing, exploring how our voice can be used to express and release in ways that support catharsis while maintaining a regulated nervous system. This will lead into our drum led ceremony. On Saturday, weβll explore the intersection of visualization and somatics as a wonderful adjunct to a journey. Continuing the theme from Friday, weβll look at how we support a calm inner environment in through our presence and guidance. This will culminate in our Saturday evening ceremony. Sunday, as we integrate our experience, weβll explore how our stories can convey deep universal truths, and how taking our seat as a teacher can provide deep value to our students. βLink to Registerβ β β Group Coaching and Mentorship- The Golden Road CollectiveI have a group offering called The Golden Road Collective. Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Your Inner Child Loves The Hobbit. The 5-year-old and I read The Hobbit over the summer, and it has given us lots to think about. It's also led to one of my proudest parenting moments. We were making sandwiches for a hike, and he was spreading peanut butter onto some bread. It was a bit lumpy and patchy, and he pointed it out, saying, "It's fine." I countered, "No, dude, spread it all the way to the edges. You got this." He questioned,...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Have you met time travellers? "If time travel is a real thing, where are all the time travellers?" I've met time travelers. They're at Grateful Dead shows. (present tense!) Grateful Dead shows are timeless. Time travellers gravitate towards timeless places, I believe. Television and movies would have you believe that they flock to singular historical events, but that's only part of it. It certainly makes for better TV to have a bunch of...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. The hero in our bodies I need to remind myself to be the hero of my yoga practice sometimes. I need to remind myself not to let myself off the hook and play the victim. I had Achilles tendon surgery a few years back. It affects my balance poses. The pose on one foot is very different from that on the other. It would be really easy for me to write it off. I catch myself making excuses, telling myself it's ok to give up. It's never going...
