The Integration of Knowing and Not KnowingOnce upon a time, a spiritual aspirant climbed a steep, remote mountain to seek the teachings of a mysterious yogini. When he reached the her small hut, she invited him and started to make tea. The excited man, wanting to prove himself, started to tell this weathered wisdom keeper all of his qualifications, accolades, and achievements. He told her about his advanced degree from the prestigious university, his C Suite positions at Fortune 500 companies, and all of the things he learned at the retreat centers he traveled across the world to meditate and have ceremonies at. The yogini nodded, quietly moving around the kitchen. As he continued proudly sharing his knowledge about the universe, she brought over a tray and placed a full cup of tea in front of him. She then picked up the teapot and began to pour more of the steaming hot beverage into the already full cup. It poured all over the table and into his lap. "What are you doing?" he shouted, jumping up from his seat. With a slight smile, the enlightened one replied, "Your mind is like the tea cup, what can I offer it when it's already so full?" Shocked, the man had a flash of insight. He saw that he moved through the world with a distinct lack of humility. He hadn't come to actually learn or grow; he came to prove something. He came to be validated in what he already knew. He came so he could tell his friends back home that he had come, that he had aced it. In that one moment, he saw how he was the architect of his own suffering, and that there was a better way. He fell at her feet in tears. She put her hand on his head, and his training could finally begin. Our intentionality is always bifurcated, at least. We meet the moment with our sense and reason, our high-minded ideal. We show up with an intention that is well thought out, maybe even poetic. And yet we're drawn to the moment itself by something deeper, and inner motivation towards a more profound healing and expression. We long for something that we can't put into words, something awesome and perhaps terrifying in ways that our ordinary self tries its best to pretend doesn't even exist. Even if we conceptually know that we want to be a crying mess on the floor, we're unable to truly understand what will put us there. If we understood, we'd already be crying on the floor. And that's ok. That's why we have ceremony. To rip the bandage off of our self-centeredness and defensiveness. To connect with that which is greater, more significant, more beautiful, more real. To let love in. We're our own trickster. We fool ourselves in order to be more honest. May you have more of that in your life. Happy April Fool's Day. Sacred Medicine Music for This Very Special Day The Events!Fractal Inquiry Coaching Intensive, Begins May 8thOne of the fun things about being an integration coach is that you get to work with clients to help them move gently and safely into these dark spaces. A little meditation, some parts work, and a bit of deep inquiry. Whatever it takes. I think that inquiry is a potent tool for exploring our client's depth. People are like fractals. If you zoom in on the right spot, you get more depth and wonder than you can ever imagine. That's one of the biggest and best jobs of the coach, is to listen for those spots, and to encourage zooming. All too often people are focused on the uninteresting blue bit that just repeats "I like sugar" or "Why Me?" when just a few pixel to the right is all of the answers they could have hoped for and more. This is one of the philosophical underpinnings of our coaching model. We've found that if you're curious and caring, and you ask skillful questions, you can discover amazing things about people. Not only that, they can discover amazing things about themselves. I love to support people in building the skills and confidence to add deep inquiry to their coaching or consulting practice. To this end, I've developed a class called 'Fractal Inquiry'. It's going to be three weeks, and we will meet on Thursday nights in May. It will focus on the impact of mindful inquiry and deep listening in your Psychedelic Integration Coaching. You'll learn coaching techniques designed to awaken your clients’ inner resourcefulness. You'll be able to practice them in our community container so that you can see how they work in real-time. Inquiry is a practice that goes beyond mere discussions of microdosing protocols or educational sessions on molecules and dosages. Move beyond just lecturing your clients. Move beyond reactionary advice-giving; embrace the true art of coaching. We'll cover:

IFS and the Sacred Wound with Stefanie CohenThursday, April 10th at 5pm Pacific, 8pm Eastern - $30 or free with Golden Road Healing, as seen in Internal Family Systems and shamanism, involves learning to be with our pain in a new way. IFS calls this “Witnessing” or “Being With”—we fully acknowledge the pain of our exiled parts, offering love and compassion without trying to change it. This process allows those wounded parts to feel seen and eventually reintegrate. Often called “Blowing on the Ember,” we repeatedly turn toward our sacred wound—whether it’s a neglected inner child or a mistaken core belief—and tend that inner fire through song, drumming, time in nature, or simple stillness. Each time we show up for our pain, we honor our unique spark and begin the real work of healing. Stefanie Cohen is a former Wall Street Journal Journalist who left New York City ten years ago after being prescribed a slew of antidepressants that never really worked. She attended an ayahuasca ceremony in 2015 and found what she was looking for. She spent the next five years working with various psychedelic medicines including Ibogaine, Ayahusca, MDMA, psilocybin, ketamine and cannabis and found what she was looking for - relief from depression and anxiety and also a deeper connection to herself and others, the natural world, and a force greater than herself. She has trained in Internal Family Systems and shamanic practices and now works as a psychedelic guide in legal settings and an integration and preparation coach for others here in Berkshire County. The Way Of Liberation - March + April Monthly Theme - The Golden Road CollectiveWe've started a group offering called The Golden Road Collective. The Golden Road is a collective of psychonauts, healers, guides, and transformational change agents. We work together to create and embody the visions that have been gifted us in our ceremonies. We’re stepping into a shared future that is mindful, resilient, and committed to the versions of ourselves that we know we can be. In March and continuing into April, we'll be exploring passages from Adyashanti's "Way of Liberation" - You don't need to buy the book to enjoy our March classes, and you don't need to join our March Classes to enjoy the book. Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. Celebrities on Drugs I avoid current events, you know this. I once heard a teaching, "Don't mind the times, mind the eternities," and I really took that to heart. Good times and bad times come and go, and of course I try to do what I can on a local level, but I don't want to get to wrapped up in news that seems to be designed to manipulate my emotions, and I sure don't think it's useful for me to pass it on to you. A subset of the news...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. The Heart Can Hold It All Over time, I can see that there is less that triggers me. And there are more things that happen that I can 'breathe through,' as they say. This means that I'll be living my life, happily going about my business, and then something will happen that used to upset me very much. And through some miracle of mindfulness, I'm able to notice my jaw clench and how a part of me is ready to get so offended. I see the one...
Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. The Integration of Contemplation This morning, I looked at my phone before meditating. It happens sometimes. And I'm glad I did. I saw a pretty profound short video. Honestly, it rocked me. Almost immediately, It reframed an issue from childhood. It was an event that seemed minor at the time. I didn't think it was a big deal, I didn't want to make it a big deal. Nearly 40 years later, it wants to be treated like a big deal. This is what...
