The Psychedelic Integration of Being a Time Traveler? - Red Things on Tuesday

Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday.

Have you met time travellers?

"If time travel is a real thing, where are all the time travellers?"

I've met time travelers. They're at Grateful Dead shows. (present tense!)

Grateful Dead shows are timeless. Time travellers gravitate towards timeless places, I believe.

Television and movies would have you believe that they flock to singular historical events, but that's only part of it. It certainly makes for better TV to have a bunch of agents bumbling around the Kennedy assassination than to just watch folks dance their asses off to Jimi Hendrix.

I have to admit, though, I'd probably hit up the crucifixion if I had the chance.

"If time travel is a real thing, where are all the time travellers?"

They're doing cool stuff. Cooler stuff that most of us do, most of the time. And that's ok.

They aren't at Whole Foods. They're not at the school drop-off. They're not even at yoga class or the Psychedelic Science conference.

They're at the coolest, most fun, most interesting and awesome things that have ever happened.

And we, for the most part, are not. Sometimes by fate and circumstance, and sometimes by choice.

Believe it or not, sometimes we make the less awesome choice. We choose fear, we choose smallness. We choose not to go to events that are right there in our natural timeline that a time traveler would cross the universe to see.

Psychedelic Integration means being a better time traveler. It means making choices that create a vibrant life. It means recognizing that our time is at once finite and timeless, that we are both eternal and destined to die.

How do we choose with that in mind?

Good luck, and maybe I'll see you there!

The Golden Road

I don't have any events scheduled as of yet. There might be a few announcements in November. Until that time, I'd like to invite all budding and hopeful integration coaches to join me in my mastermind group, the Golden Road. I'll be offering teachings, Q&A, and coaching sessions every Thursday at noon Eastern. I'm still offering 1:1 sessions, but I'm suggesting the Golden Road for people interested in learning within a psychedelic community of serious practitioners. You can join here. https://tam.zone

Get some of that devotional catharsis Don’t sleep on devotional catharsis. Personally, It’s my favorite kind. So much of the healing world, the psychedelic world is focused on releasing trauma. That’s all fine and good, but that’s not all there is. Sometimes in a yoga class, the breathing is just right, and the movement is just right, and trevor hall sings just the right line, and I’m overwhelmed by the beauty of creation, and then infinite love that’s surrounding and moving through me. The...

Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. If you think you're enlightened, go spend a week with your family. This is a famous old Ram Dass quote. He took all that acid, hung out with gurus and saints, and did as much spiritual practice as anyone could. And Thanksgiving still triggered him. Why should we be different? Who are we that this should be easy? I don't always know how to relate to my folks, we've certainly had our ups and downs. As I write this from their kitchen...

Welcome to this Week's Edition of Red Things on Tuesday. What's going on? What should I do? Integrating the two confusions. In my class "Meditation for the Journey," we dip our toes into the water of Buddhist Psychology and explore how we're tormented both inside our psychedelic experiences and out, by the three poisons: Greed, attachment, clinging, lust (Raga) Aversion, hatred, avoidance, ill-will, revulsion (Dvesha) Confusion, ignorance, misunderstanding, delusion (Moha) When discussing...
